The way he's kissing her right now speaks volumes: it's slow, loving, yet with an underlying heat to it, like a flickering fire that could be stoked into a raging inferno at any moment. But he isn't going to let it reach that state, not yet. He wants to be certain that she understands what he's trying to express first.
