[Shu's totally provoking Gai.]

No.

[Are we back to a staredown? Because Gai can totally do a staredown.]

I came here for okonomiyaki and I'm going to eat it.

[And, in fact, he will demonstrate this by taking a bite.]

You're saying that because you can't cook.

[Suit yourself but really Gai?

We're having a staredown yep.]

[Gai is just going to completely ignore Shu and continue eating. LIKE AN ADULT.]

[Instead of responding to Gai like a MATURE PERSON..Shu opens up his journal and starts looking for Elizabeth's name.

He has to let her know. Her boyfriend can't cook.]

[voidseeing]

[Gai doesn't even care what Shu is doing. He knows Elizabeth well enough to know that she will just roll her eyes and laugh if Shu tries to tell her... well, ANYTHING.

Shu can go whine to Elizabeth if he wants. Gai is just going to sit here and enjoy his lunch.]

[WOW GAI WOW!!

It looks like Shu passed Elizabeth's name on the journal list. He just wanted to see some reactions from Gai. Although, it looks like his plan back fired and there really isn't any point in contacting Elizabeth over this.

For now Shu's calmed down. He's upset again because he did understand what Gai meant earlier: that this is like home.

Except, he feels ashamed for noticing it too late so he doesn't say anything. ]

[voidseeing]

[All the while, Gai has kept his eyes trained on Shu, just watching whatever it is he's doing. He's not surprised that Shu didn't go through with it-- he knows the other boy well enough to know that he was trying to provoke a reaction, and when he didn't get it, the interest disappeared.

Score another point for Gai.

He'll just take a few more leisurely bites before he speaks up again.]

Eat.

[iwannabethegai]

[Shu slowly stares up at Gai and recognizes that he's been completely honest so far. Gai's just trying to help out by asking him to eat food. Why did his dreams tell him otherwise?

Shu nods and silently starts eating some food off the table. ]

[voidseeing]

[There. It was a battle, but Gai thinks he's finally starting to get through to Shu. Still, he's not going to push his luck, so the only response Shu will get is a nod before Gai goes back to eating his own meal.]

[They finish up their food and head back to Gai's apartment!

Eating a lot makes Shu sleepy and he yawns twice before rubbing his eyes.]

[voidseeing]

[That yawn doesn't go unnoticed by Gai; frankly, he's pleased to see it given what he knows about how Shu neglects himself. If he can get Shu a good meal and a good nap, that in itself will be an accomplishment.

One down, one to go.]

You can rest in one of the spare bedrooms if you're tired.

No! [Shu hates sleeping. He nearly snaps at Gai, but calms down before he does.]

Sorry, I'm not sleeping. It's not worth it. [Even if he tried the most he'd get is a good half an hour of sleep.]

[voidseeing]

I'm not going back to Elizabeth's house for a while, so you don't have to worry about me leaving you here alone.

[While he can understand Shu's sentiments towards sleeping, he also knows that being tired doesn't do you (or anyone else) any favors.]

Did something happen? Why won't you go back? [This is very odd for Gai and Shu's sure there's a good reason behind that decision.]

[voidseeing]

[But Gai just gives a little shrug and a smile, shaking his head.]

Sometimes I just need some space.

[That's something that he knows Shu will understand.]

[iwannabethegai]

[He starts to feel slightly bad for asking something too personal.

Whatever Gai decides to do with Elizabeth is between them. He has no right to pry.]

Sorry.

[voidseeing]

Don't apologize.

[Then, because he's not about to back down on this subject:]

There are spare blankets in the closet if you want them.

Excuse me then. [Time to TEST HIS THEORY to see if Gai actually does laundry.

Surprisingly enough all the sheets are clean and he shrugs. It's a bit of a disappointment on his end.]

[voidseeing]

[Everything in the apartment is clean, in fact. It's sparsely decorated, but Gai keeps the place tidy. Even the spare bed is neatly made.]

[iwannabethegai]

[Shu hadn't noticed because last time HE was the one running around making a mess.

But he takes the spare blanks and decides to try sleeping for once. In all honesty, sleeping scares him more than anything else. He can't reject Gai's hospitality so he rests on the bed.]

[voidseeing]

[Meanwhile, Gai will just quietly pack some fresh clothes to take back to Elizabeth's and do some laundry (oh the irony). Shu can sleep as long as he likes; if it takes too long, Gai will just send Elizabeth a message explaining where he is and what's going on.

And maybe, just maybe, this will be the start of things slowly going back to normal between them.]
