[He has no idea where he's going so he runs behind Gai and starts following him.]

[Letting Shu loose in the kitchen sounds like a recipe for disaster to him. He remembers those onigiri you used to make as a kid, Shu.

When Shu switches positions so that he can follow Gai instead, Gai almost laughs, but to his credit manages to keep a straight face.]

[ Shu thinks he's better than that. Gai why?]

[He smiles energetically and runs around a bit.]

So tell me! What kind of place do you live in? Is it like our place in Oshima?

[Gai offers a crooked smile and shakes his head.]

Not at all. I live in an apartment by myself. It's a lot smaller than the house in Oshima, but it's just the right size for me.

[And a now-fiancee who frequently comes to visit, but Shu doesn't really need to know that part now.]

[He still wants to run around inside even if Gai's place is small.]

[That pulls Gai up short, and he actually stops walking to look down at Shu as if he isn't quite sure that he heard things right.]

You still want to play with me that badly even though I'm not the Triton you remember?

Yeah, that's right. What's wrong? Triton's still Triton. You're you no matter what happens.

[Gai's looking down at Shu but Shu's trying to look up closer. Seriously, when did Triton get this big?]
