[Elizabeth pauses in twisting the wire top off of the cork, because Gai's purr even from ten feet away is just too much. She recovers and flashes him a look that could only say 'I See What You Did There'.]

No, I just don't want to keep standing up if I'm going to be feeding you all day. Sorry to disappoint. [She laughs and sets the wire bit aside and starts trying to pull the cork on the champagne. ...it's slow going.]

I would think, though, that most men dreamed of having a woman feed him while he laid back and did nothing.

[He smirks right back, pleased that he could draw a reaction from her. What would truly be disappointing would be if she didn't look askance at him like that.]

I never said that particular vision hasn't entered my fantasies on more than one occasion. The only difference is there's usually less clothing involved on both ends.

[But he'll go sit down on the couch as instructed and just make himself comfortable there with as innocent an expression on his face as he can muster after saying what he did.]

So it has entered your fantasies on more than one occasion? [Elizabeth sounds like she's trying to be dry and cagey about it, but in reality she's all but leaping at a chance to give Gai one of his fantasies. On his birthday no less-- it's perfect.]

How much less clothing did you imagine? [She's still struggling with the cork, there's time to converse, clearly.]

What do you think? I'd like to hear how your imagination fills in the blanks on this one, since I already know exactly how my version of it goes...

[While she's working on the cork, he's going to surreptitiously unbutton the first few buttons on his shirt to expose a little skin. That ought to be a nice surprise for her when she turns back around.]

Mm... [Well, in her imagination, she's wearing a corset and stockings like Gai had asked her to before. She's not wearing her corset though-- after Gai had managed to successfully get it off of her on Valentine's Day, she'd made good on her promise and started wearing modern underwear. It had taken some trial and error, but she'd found things she was comfortable in.]

[So she'd have to do something different. After wrestling with the cork some more, she growls and turns around. Oh yes, those few buttons definitely do something for Gai's overall look. It stops her in her tracks for a moment, but it also gives her an idea. She heads for the bathroom.] I need a towel to get this thing out. Don't you move now.

[She does get to the bathroom to get a towel, but once she's out of sight she unbuttons her skirt and lets it drop onto the floor. Her shoes and stockings go too, leaving her in her blouse and the undergarments she'd picked out. She wasn't completely naive, it was Gai's birthday after all.]

[She heaves a heavy sigh and comes back into the living room. Mild states of undress for both of them.] I can't get it out. Would you...?

I don't plan on it.

[For a certain definition of 'move.' What he will be doing, however, is arranging himself in a very attractive splay on the couch, legs open a little more than is strictly necessary for sitting down. He also makes sure to tilt his head just enough so that some of his hair falls forward into his face to partly obscure his eyes but not hide them entirely from view.

There, that should be perfect. She'll be pleased when she walks back in.

... until she actually does come back in, and then it's Gai's turn to be surprised in a very pleasant way. When had she gotten that underwear? And is that lace he sees?

She may have to repeat that question if she wants an actual response out of him. Right now, he's too focused on that lacy lingerie to realize that she just asked him something.]

[Oh they were just playing another game of Sexy Chicken with one another, weren't they? In Elizabeth's opinion, it wasn't fair at all that Gai could just unbutton a few buttons, splay himself over the couch in careful recline, and look gorgeous. But even if it wasn't fair, at least he wasn't going around being sexily disheveled for anyone else but her.]

[She comes out of staring first, raises an eyebrow at him to let him know that she noted the change, and goes to get the glasses from the table. Even if the tail of her blouse covers most of her underwear, Gai can get some little flashes of, indeed, lace as she walks away from him.] If you can hold me up, I think you can open a champagne cork. [She comes back to the couch with the glasses, bottle, and towel.]

What else are men for?

[Gai is nothing if not calculating, as he's displaying right now. Sexy Chicken just so happens to be one of his favorite games, because regardless of whether he wins or loses, it's guaranteed that he'll enjoy the outcome. Besides, the more they tease, the more fun things will be when all of the clothing does finally come off.

He almost wants to say that those little flashes of lace are cheating, though. Panties should NOT be that sexy, especially not when they're mostly covered by a shirt. Or maybe they're sexy because they're mostly covered-- at this point he isn't sure. Either way, he's going to stare at them until he can't stare anymore, which would be when she holds out the bottle to him.

But he will be a good fiance and uncork the bottle for her as he promised. Homemade cake, champagne, and his fiancee in her underwear... this is already shaping up to be the best birthday he's ever had.]

[She'll chalk Gai's staring up to a victory. Whatever his fantasy was, she's doing something close enough or better, and that makes Elizabeth grin in a silly, love-struck way as she hands him the bottle.]

[When he does get it open, she jumps a little from the very loud pop and laughs at herself as she hurries to put a glass under the bottle before it overflows onto the couch or carpet.]

Alright, alright-- [She grins again and ensconces herself on the couch, draping herself onto Gai's shoulder and offering the glass to him.] To you, dearest.

[He'll keep the towel situated beneath that bottle until she fetches the glasses to avoid any accidental drips, though in all honesty, at this point he's rather certain that champagne will be the least of what ends up getting on the couch this afternoon. Not that he minds.

The offered glass earns Elizabeth a raised eyebrow of amusement; the draping turns his smile into something bordering almost on predatory, and he has to fight off the urge to reach up and push that blouse a little further off her shoulder.]

To me. But you need one too if we're going to do a toast.

[Elizabeth sees that predatory smile and wonders briefly if the rest of the cake is going to go forgotten. Not that she minds, whatever Gai wants to do with his fantasy Elizabeth will go along with-- within reason, obviously. She smiles back, slightly unsure of where Gai's going to lead them next.]

I guess I do, if we're going to toast properly. [She leans over to get the bottle and her glass.]

[Cake? What cake? Gai's focus is entirely on Elizabeth right now. Well, maybe a bit on the champagne as well, but that's tangential.

And then she leans over and Gai's eyes end up tracking the way her blouse falls open further as she does so, revealing even more of those lacy undergarments...]

[On the other hand, Elizabeth is totally oblivious to what her clothes are doing as she pours herself a glass. Gai is clearly pleased by her mode of undress, and she's leaving it at that. No need to go overboard or try too hard-- they make a beautiful picture.]

[She straightens up after setting the bottle back down, glass in hand.] Now to you? [She grins and raises it.]

Perfect.

[And he lifts his own glass with a smile, clinking the rim against hers.]

To many more years of birthdays just as perfect as this one.

[Because to him, this is perfect. He doesn't need some huge party or expensive gifts, and in fact he would be unhappy if he got either one of those things. They aren't his style at all. Something quiet and intimate and personal like this suits him far better and feels more like an actual celebration rather than just a formality.]

...And to many more years made up of days like this one. [She adds that and takes a sip. It's not the best champagne ever, maybe, but it doesn't really matter to her. She's thinking about how many birthdays she and Gai have ahead of them, and how many days they could spend comfortably in each other's company. So many days. She was so lucky.]

[The thought overwhelms her a little, in a good way, and Elizabeth giggles and buries her nose in the exposed line of skin under Gai's neck. For being without a skirt and socks, she was very warm.]

[Now his smile turns mischievous, though he's quick to hide it behind the rim of his glass as he too takes a sip. No, not the best champagne ever, but that's hardly a priority. It's the moment that matters, and right now, the moment is perfect.

... well. Almost perfect.]

I'd be careful what I wished for if I were you.

Why? [She pulls away and grins up at him.] Because that would mean I'd spend every day with you?

No, because that would mean you would spend every day thoroughly exhausted. Not that I'd complain about that.

[He doesn't think he needs to explain things any further than that, really.]

Oh~ [She's catching what you're dropping Gai. But even though it's his birthday, Elizabeth is going to make things interesting. Just a little play.]

What's giving you the idea that I'm going to be exhausted? [Elizabeth raises her eyebrows and sips her champagne.] Is it because I'm walking around without a skirt on?

[Interesting is more than fine by him. It is what he likes best, after all-- the chase can be every bit as much fun as the end result, sometimes even more.]

That's a good start to things, but it's more that I'm confident that my skills haven't deteriorated that much since the last time we had a little fun.

[He too keeps his hand firmly on his glass, just taking another idle sip.]

You have yet to disappoint, and we've been at it for... [She counts on her fingers.] Nine months! Wow, it hasn't felt that long.

[Elizabeth watches him drink for a moment, then stretches up and puts a kiss on his neck.] I have a feeling you'll always surprise me.

You have no idea how disappointed I'd be in myself if I didn't.

[He turns his head a little, just enough to brush a kiss against her hair when she kisses his neck.]

You know what I always say about life needing adventure. Surprise is just one part of that.

Yes, but you'd think that with all of the times we've done it, that one of those times it might feel a little deja vu. Right? How many times can I pull your hair before it's just another night in bed?

Hopefully as many times as you want. You'd be surprised how much fun something as simple as that can be when it's done right, and you know how to do it right.

[Oh, does she ever.]

I think you're just saying that because I'm your fiance. [Her grin says she's teasing, though. If Gai's intention was to get her to pull on him, it's worked. Elizabeth reaches up and curls a lock of his hair around her finger before pulling twice, gently.]
