[Once Gai has gotten over the initial shock of waking up somewhere he doesn't recognize (and alive, to boot), realizing he has a pair of small wings attached to his back (the irony of THAT fact is not lost on him), and determining that he has nothing to his name except this pair of white pants and a strange book that seems to be some sort of magical communicator, his first course of action will just be to flip through said book for a while to read things and listen in on some of the conversations taking place.

It's not long before he gathers that there's a village here. Since that's probably Gai's best chance of finding proper clothing and a weapon, that's where he's going to head, figuring that he's most likely to find at least SOME sort of civilization by following this stream.

Thus he can be found approaching the village along the western stream sometime around mid-afternoon, looking... pretty calm as far as New Feathers go. Really, the only giveaway that he is one would be his outfit. If he sees anyone, though, he might just ask them for directions to make sure he's going the right way.]

[ Serah is taking a walk through the village herself - she'd arrived a week and a half ago, and was still getting used to navigating her way around. It sure was much larger than the village she was used to. She smiles in passing at Gai as he approaches, and it's then that she notices the outfit. The Guide had described the male version of the New Feather outfit, and Noel had said he'd arrived in those pants too.

So, as a (relative) newbie helping out another newbie: ] Oh, hey... did you just arrive?

[Gai gives the girl a quick up-and-down look, just silently assessing, before he smiles, about as casual as can be considering the situation. He doesn't even seem to be bothered by the outfit, either.]

Yeah, I did. Do you know where the village is? Or perhaps you wouldn't mind taking me there yourself?

Yeah, it's not very far from here. I don't mind taking you. [ Serah turns and starts heading off in the direction of the village.

And... hmm. For a new arrival, he sure is nonchalant about all this. ] You seem to be taking everything in your stride.

[He just nods his appreciation, still smiling... well, maybe smirking would be a better word, but it's a fine distinction.]

There's no point in getting upset over something that can't be changed. It's more productive to focus on what we can do instead.

[Pao-Lin's gotten back into her usual training routine, so she's out by the stream, practicing her shocking brand of kung fu. She won't notice Gai immediately, but he's welcome to interrupt her if he needs directions.]

[Well now. THAT'S certainly interesting, and while Gai won't be interrupting her just yet, he will be stopping to watch for a few minutes, just observing her abilities. It's definitely not normal in his world, making him all the more intrigued by it.]

[Pao-Lin notices Gai's presence, but she finishes with her current form first before addressing him.]

Oh, hi! Did you need help with something? [A semi-rhetorical question, but it works to get a conversation started.]

[He gives a slight shake of his head; his outfit should make it clear enough that he's a New Feather, yet he doesn't seem distressed or confused at all.]

Yeah, I was wondering if you could tell me how to get to the village here. The guide indicates that I should reach it if I follow the river, but asking seems like a better way to make sure I'm going in the right direction.

[Nod nod.] Yup! Just keep going that way. [She indicates the direction with a wave of an arm.] You can't miss it. [She smiles encouragingly.] I guess you just got here today, huh?
