You haven't failed anyone.

[Gai isn't sure how many times he needs to say this before Shu will finally, finally get the point. There's self-hatred, yes; it's a concept he's far too familiar with himself. But he has never gotten quite this bad, not even at his lowest point. He isn't sure what else he can do to convince Shu.]

You were the one who put a stop to everything in the end, not me. If you can't believe in anything else, then at least believe in that.

[Food they ordered a while ago finally arrived! Shu seems to be entirely put off by this sudden action. He's not quite sure what to make of it and he stares at Gai all confused. ]

I'm not hungry.

[He's trying to get rid of the person handling their food. He's upset from his conversation with Gai.]

Eat it anyway.

[Because Gai knows better and he knows that Shu doesn't take care of himself unless prompted half the time.]

I'm not under your orders anymore.

[Still not listening to Gai.

Does he ever?]

[This look, Shu.

[Oh...

he's not really concerned about that. He's more or less used to that expression by now.

Shu reaches over to Gai and pops his collar upright.]

[That throws Gai for enough of a loop that he actually looks startled for a moment, which in turn completely ruins his glare.

Dammit, Shu. HIS CLOTHES ARE JUST FINE, THANK YOU.]

What do you think you're doing?

[Shu pouts and frowns. He cares about how his best friend dresses up. Especially now that he's dating!]

You're not wearing it straight.

[Gai looks like he wants to pull away, punch Shu, or both... but instead he just sits there quietly and tolerates it, though he looks annoyed.]

It doesn't matter.

I can't just leave you like that.

It'll get wrinkled and don't make Elizabeth do all your laundry. [It matters to Shu apparently.]

I don't make her do any of my laundry. I take care of all of that by myself.

Do you separate everything properly? You don't.

You just mix it all in together and call it a day. [He won't stop.]

Why do you suddenly care so much about my laundry?

[He's trying to grab his chopsticks so he can start eating before the food goes cold...]

[Before Gai can reach for his chopsticks Shu slams on the table and shakes everything on top.]

[Shu knows how Gai acts in Funeral Parlor. Don't give him that. No Gai, just no.]

You're one track minded. As soon as you want to do something you forget about everything else.

A simple task like laundry should be no trouble for someone like you and yet...

Of course I do. I don't always eat out, especially not when I'm tired. I can cook just fine on my own.

Then cook something. We don't have to eat this.

I came here for okonomiyaki and I'm going to eat it.

[And, in fact, he will demonstrate this by taking a bite.]

You're saying that because you can't cook.

[Gai is just going to completely ignore Shu and continue eating. LIKE AN ADULT.]

[Instead of responding to Gai like a MATURE PERSON..Shu opens up his journal and starts looking for Elizabeth's name.

He has to let her know. Her boyfriend can't cook.]

[Gai doesn't even care what Shu is doing. He knows Elizabeth well enough to know that she will just roll her eyes and laugh if Shu tries to tell her... well, ANYTHING.

Shu can go whine to Elizabeth if he wants. Gai is just going to sit here and enjoy his lunch.]
