[And Elizabeth knows when she's being teased. She frowns and tries to sit up--but that's not happening anytime soon.]

Not anymore... but you can't blame me, it looks strange at first. [She says this defensively and turns her head to look at the couch cushion.]

[Gai just sits up instead, leaning over to kiss her forehead. Maybe he poked a little too much there... it's still hard for him to gauge what's okay to joke about and what isn't. He's used to humor that's far more biting, and it's easy for him to forget that not everyone has the same thick skin that he does when it comes to things like that.]

I know. That means I'm going to have to find you some better romance novels if the ones you read didn't have that in them. Those writers obviously don't even know what they're writing about.

[Of course, it's not Gai's fault at all. Elizabeth was just... extremely insecure about her knowledge of sex and what Gai liked or might not like. Being reminded that she was completely green and didn't know what she was talking about most of the time... it was a little bit of a sore spot.]

[But Gai's kiss obviously heals all in the land of Elizabeth, and she melts into a much more open and inviting position. She wants to have physical contact with Gai now--hands, lips, holding and cuddling. She's too tired for much else. Her hands drape behind Gai's neck, trying to coax him down to her.]

[It's telling, really, that the two of them are so comfortable with each other that Gai accidentally poking her in the side with his erection earns laughter rather than surprise or anger, and that Gai doesn't even feel awkward about it beyond the initial brief moment of embarrassment. Lying together like this just feels right on some deep level, like this is where he belongs. Before, he'd laughed at the idea of fate, even actively denied it and worked against it. Now, though... he's starting to think that maybe it's not so bad after all.]

It's a life that I want to live... with you.

[He lets his eyes slide shut as she touches his cheek, just relaxing into that stroking and marveling at how somehow his aversion to touch seems to just disappear when it's Elizabeth.]

I don't think I'll ever be able to stop fighting. It's the only thing I've ever known, and the only place I truly feel comfortable outside of this. [Now he opens his eyes to look at her.] Can you accept that?

[Elizabeth keeps her smile, and once Gai's eyes close she swallows and bites her tongue. She wants to live her life with Gai too. Traveling, though, together. Romantic nights in Paris...]

[But she's going to unravel everything. If anything though, it makes her hand on Gai's cheek softer and more tender. He's so handsome, so thoughtful. She can't leave him here, she can't go back.]

[When he opens his eyes, Elizabeth looks down at his chin, smiles again.] As long as you don't run too far away from me, looking for a fight.

[Gai smiles in turn and presses a kiss to her lips, then lifts his hand to rest it over hers.]

Now why would I want to do that? You're far more exciting than any fight.

[And, because he's feeling mischievous, he rolls a little bit so that he can press himself against her again and let her feel just how exciting he finds her. (Not that she would really have any doubts by now, but still.)]

[Elizabeth giggles and squirms away from the press. Yes, yes, she figured as much.]

You're the one who said you couldn't stop fighting. I'm only planning for every possibility.

[Laughing, Gai nuzzles her again, then shifts his hips away.]

Who knows, maybe I can eventually be tamed. Knowing you, I wouldn't be surprised if you found some way to manage that.

Oh, that sounds intriguing. [Elizabeth grins and pulls a little on a lock of Gai's hair again.] You even come with your own leash.

[He does indeed, which is exactly why he used it. Unfair? Maybe a little, but he's not about to object to her curling closer to him. In fact, he'll reach out an arm to wrap around her when she does so.]

Oh... [Elizabeth is unfamiliar with this concept. 'Good pain'...]

[She starts pulling on Gai's hair, gently at first, but then she gradually pulls harder.] Tell me when it's too hard...
